Welcome
Physician Assistant Program: New Times and New Professionals
These are very exciting times for the Physician Assistant Program and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Mercer University. 2013 marks a period of transition as we welcome the fourth class of eager students. The class of 2013 recently began their academic period, coming together from across the nation comprised of various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. The next 13 months will be intense as this class learns the medical foundation within the classroom. This year will be a chance for them to learn and bond as a group.
As the University welcomes a group of new students, they release the second group out into the world of patient care. The class of 2012 is preparing to begin their 15 month period of clinical rotations. This provides a change of pace from the classroom setting and provides opportunity to improve their knowledge base and apply what they have learned to practical situations.
As the classes of 2012 and 2013 advance through their academic careers, the class of 2011 has completed their nine core rotations and their final elective rotations and capstone projects. In May the University celebrated in the graduation of this class and wishes them luck as they now enter into their chosen areas of specialties.
All members look forward to their new experiences: in the classroom, during rotations, and beyond graduation. We will continue in our endeavors in the worthy traditions of Mercer University and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
